Acts as liaison between engineering and manufacturing, provides support in the areas of assembling, testing, debugging, and data analysis working with hand tools, test equipment, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications in a timely, accurate manner by performing the following duties.

Create test fixtures and prototypes and generate correct documentation.
Debug of electronic equipment
Generate process sheets and test procedures as directed.
Diagnose, service and repair electronic equipment.
Apply knowledge, use hand tools and operate test equipment such as test meters, ammeters, voltmeters or oscilloscope ohmmeters according to established procedures as required.
Read and understand wiring diagrams to trace electronic circuits and ensure proper operation according to engineering/manufacturer's specifications.
Liaison with QA & Manufacturing on issues affecting Engineering Department.
Provide research for part prices/availability, manufacture's specifications, warranty status, estimate approval or other related items for customers as required.
Maintain a professional manner to enhance the company's image with customers.
Attend and participate in technical meetings.
Perform board to system level testing; troubleshooting and root cause failure mode.
Maintain the engineering department's equipment, tools, vehicles and auxiliary gear.
Work on boats or ships as required.
20% business travel as required.
Other duties as assigned.


  • Completed technical school degree or certificate required and 4 to 6 years of related experience in a technical, electronic or manufacturing environment preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Experience in the manufacturing and repair of AUVs.
  • Experience with complex, software intensive systems.
  • Understanding of sonar systems including side scan, Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs), DVLs, multi-beam sonar and others and positioning and navigation systems is beneficial.
  • Going to sea and small boat operational experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools or equivalent. Candidate must work with complex, software intensive systems and use database programs.
  • The ideal candidate is an individual that can work in a fast paced environment; with a high attention to detail, excellent problem solving skills, ability to multi-task and enthusiastic attitude.

A condition of this position will require the successful Applicant to pass a government security investigation and must subsequently receive authorization to access US Department of Defense Controlled Unclassified Information ("CUI") and potentially classified information.
