Commercial Strategic Account Sales Manager

Armstrong Flooring Inc (AFI), has a job opportunity for a Commercial Strategic Accounts Sales Manager to be located in NYC. The Commercial Strategic Account Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales to exceed annual budgets for all resilient and wood products by developing strong consultative selling relationships with existing and new target accounts in the region.

Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Strategic Accounts Sales Manager:

  • Work closely with the Business Development Specialist to manage target account list
  • Consultative selling relationships (current and target accounts)
  • Ability to cold call new accounts to develop relationships leading to closed specifications of Armstrong products. Develop proprietary specifications with target National Accounts
  • Develop relationships with all retail focused Architectural and design firms within region. Influence all specifications from these firms to include proprietary Armstrong specifications.
  • Interface with the regional Armstrong representatives and distributor representatives to solicit support for accounts
  • In conjunction with CSA Business Manager, manage activity with existing account base of end use customers. Primary relationship owner for existing and new accounts including obtaining construction schedules to develop inventory service plans, complaint resolution, general troubleshooting, and maintaining closed specifications. Maintain all existing accounts specifications
  • Negotiate and implement price increases with existing accounts
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (SFDC) system for maintaining all account contact, notes and project management history. Utilize SFDC for tracking account construction plans via uploading of construction plans as provided by accounts
  • Collaborate with and drive accuracy with the CSA Business Manager for reporting monthly forecasted volume for their assigned accounts.

Required Qualifications for the Commercial Strategic Accounts Sales Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of selling experience
  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time
  • Able to lift or move up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to perform detailed financial analysis and provide appropriate account data to senior sales management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes

Desired Qualifications for the Commercial Strategic Accounts Sales Manager:

  • Past knowledge of the construction industry
