Fast paced, growing healthcare technology and service company offers the right candidate opportunity to grow with us and be rewarded as you contribute to our success! This is a new position of a combo - Hands-on Systems Administrator/IT Director that functions as technical support for proprietary application and IT Infrastructure and Security. We recently moved to Azure environment and grew from 20 employees to 150 due to a new contract managing a large medical group. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to, support of the server and desktop environment; triage and troubleshooting of all hardware and supporting operating systems including security; support in the creation and updating of process documentation, system patching, Azure support functionality, application upgrades, coordination of deliverables with internal and external customers, and after-hours support (shared). Initially this role will do all roles for corporate office and create an IT plan with management to provide IT support to 30 different medical practice sites by year-end 2021.

Position located: 1010 Northern Blvd, Great Neck NY (In-Office Position; 1 Day Remote/week OK)

Responsibilities:

  • Install devices and firewalls, and monitor performance of Azure, VMs, software and hardware
  • Responsible for implementing controls, troubleshooting, and problem resolution of O365
  • Responsible for implementing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution of various desktop, printers, routers, switches, and VPNs
  • Responsible for creation and implementation of procedures/documentation used in the support of IT infrastructure systems and services
  • Support proprietary software, utilizing ticket system to track bugs and fixes, and follow-through with software development team (teach physician support team how to make tickets)
  • Support engineering team by participating, in pre-release QA and testing
  • Create and maintain systems documentation, diagrams and IT procedures
  • Proactively gather system requirements and translate the requirements into a detailed design document
  • Installing, administering and troubleshooting an organization's security solutions
  • Monitor the Internet connection for security risks
  • Employ the latest security protocols
  • Develop and supporting organizational security standards, best practices, preventative measures, and disaster recovery plans
  • Report on security breaches to users, as necessary, and to upper management.
  • Implement and update software to protect information
  • Stay current on IT security trends and information
  • Recommend security enhancements to management
  • Support desktop, mobile, and network security
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Engineering preferred
  • Azure Admin certification highly preferred
  • 7+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technology advocate and change enabler
  • Experience with management of enterprise backup and recovery systems.
  • Experience managing virtualized environments, preferably VMware 5.5 and up
  • Experience with Project Management software, JIRA
  • Experience with databases, networks, upgrading hardware and software, designing networks, laying out the infrastructure for LANs, troubleshooting network outages and user troubles and the ability to communicate clearly
  • Current expertise on the latest security protocols for the LAN and wide area network (WAN)
  • Able to clearly document designs using clearly defined Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills in both technical and non-technical capacities
  • Can-do attitude, and ability to work on a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
