Job Summary

The Executive Chef I develops and plans menus, establishes recipes and food purchase specifications, coordinates, executes, supervises and evaluates all the food production activities of a fast-paced, customer satisfaction-focused operation.

This is very much a hands-on role in a higher education account with several catering events on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cost controls and control expenditures for the account
  • Plan and create nutritious menus
  • Purchase and manage inventory
  • Estimate amounts and cost of required supplies, such as food and ingredients
  • Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that team members follow standards and regulations
  • Train, supervise, monitor and coach all culinary team members in the preparation, cooking, garnishing or presentation of food

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a corporate or higher educational operation
  • We seek team players with the perfect mix of culinary and administrative expertise.
  • These individuals will train associates and maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, sanitation and safety.
  • Catering experience a must.
  • Experience with purchasing of food products and food cost analysis.
  • Must possess a high level of organization and the ability to handle multiple tasks/diverse duties while determining appropriate priorities for their completion.
  • Responsible for administrative duties as well. Must be computer literate.
  • Culinary education a plus
