SUMMARY

The Cook is responsible for quality production of resident food, paying close attention to resident food preferences and allergies. The Cook conducts freezer and storeroom inventory. In the absence of the supervisor, the Cook will oversee production, service and cleanup of the kitchen.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares food using standardized recipe for amounts and procedure for resident
  • Delivers food carts to resident areas
  • Washes and stores dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
  • Checks in supplies and food stuffs
  • Cleans kitchen area
  • At least one year's experience as a cook in institutional food preparation
  • Must be able to read, write, follow instructions, and do math
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Other duties as assigned
