Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Senior Manager of Risk Finance and Administration to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in Parsippany, New Jersey .

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Risk Finance & Administration is responsible for maintaining the accurate records of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts' insurance programs, the financial and accounting for the associated claim and policy costs of these programs, business analysis and compliance with the various cash flow programs and the risk financing agreements including ancillary tasks associated with large Corporate Risk Management function. This scope consists of supporting both the corporate function and approximately 400 managed hotels around the world. Additional responsibilities include the insurance carrier premium/exposure audits, Internal Audit & SOX lead for the Risk Management department, and head administrator for the Risk Management Information System (RMIS). This role will also conduct analysis of claims data, perform general insurance program administration, and special projects.

Responsibilities

Risk Finance (Claims & Premiums)

  • Manages insurance cost accounting, budgeting, casualty loss accrual accounts, premiums, and related risk department expenditures
  • Administer all cost allocation methodologies and maintain its related data
  • Internally support the actuarial processes to ensure that timely delivery of required exposure and loss data are provided
  • Assist external consultants in the planning and completion of the quarterly actuarial analysis and projection of outstanding ultimates and collaborate with accounting team for posting the respective accruals
  • Education and training of Wyndham Team Members of risk management processes

Premium Audit

  • Manage the various annual insurance carrier premium audits and the monopolistic state fund audits
  • Support the premium audits by aggregating, reviewing and analyzing exposures and deliver appropriate audit information to insurers
  • Provide stakeholders quarterly budget updates from periodic exposure reviews

Lead the RMIS development and support RMIS for the organization

  • Ensure all related technology, including hardware, software, cloud, and Servers activities are operational
  • Collaborate with the SAS provider Ventiv
  • Support the ongoing data feeds from insurers, TPAs, and other internal databases
  • Maintain a repository of enhancements and upgrades based on user feedback
  • Maintain a system access schedule of all users, including full users, light users, and administrators
  • Ensure data integrity
  • Education and training for the RMIS

Develop and analyze periodic reports and lead internal audit initiatives on the team

  • Design, develop and publish in coordination with other departments professionals appropriate and necessary internal reports for communication and analyzing loss frequency, severity, and loss cause, risk and loss exposures, cost derivers, etc., to aid in driving down the cost of risk and support loss control efforts
  • Facilities compliance with policies, procedures and programs as they relate to financial reporting data integrity and internal controls

Education & Experience

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8 years related work experience
  • Background in accounting, budgeting, & risk finance preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills
  • Microsoft Excel “expert” required
  • Must have excellent leadership skills
  • Knowledge of insurance claims and procurement processes preferred, but not required
