Position Summary:

The Human Resources Director, will serve as a key business and strategic partner to the SVP & GM and the leadership team. Reporting to both the CHRO and SVP & GM, this individual will provide strategic HR leadership and internal consulting to the business and will play a critical execution role in the organization's ongoing global transformation.

As a member of the business unit and HR leadership teams, this individual will contribute at the broad business level to guide, develop and drive business results while also have a strong emphasis as an operational, hands-on HR practitioner. The day-to-day role will involve orchestrating people, structure, processes and resources to support and implement the needs of this business. This person must have an understanding of key human resource functions and processes, with a focus on compensation (variable plan design and execution); employee relations; communications; workforce planning; talent identification and development; organizational culture, development and effectiveness; as well as business objectives and strategies. The role collaborates with the HR functions and is owns the implementation of strategies and solutions for all HR initiatives and processes. In addition, this position is responsible for identifying gaps between current organizational capabilities, required competencies and skills, and the future strategic objectives of the organization.

This individual must be a thought-leader and have a history of implementing successful programs within global organizations of significant scale and complexity. Credibility, business partnering, a global perspective, ability to execute and a collaborative approach are keys to success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a strategic and operational partner to the leadership team and as a confidential advisor on sensitive people matters, including coaching and team effectiveness.
  • Understand business needs and develops, designs and executes HR strategies and plans that will capitalize on the growth opportunities and ensure the organization operates effectively.
  • Manage and administer all aspects of the Human Resources function, policies and procedures for the business unit. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to: compensation, employee relations, workforce planning, communications, regulatory compliance, performance management and retention strategies.
  • Serve as a transformational change agent by leading and sponsoring approaches that encourage effectiveness and flexibility across the organization. Lead change management and efforts required to continually evolve the culture.
  • Consult with Executives and leaders in aligning HR offerings (such as talent identification and development, employee engagement, workforce and location strategies, compensation and performance management) to business goals.
  • Proactively ensures the right level resources with the necessary skills set are identified, screened, selected and recruited.
  • Leverage metrics and analytics to drive fact-based decisions.
  • Initiates and leads discussions on HR policies and procedures improvement to ensure they are up to date, business enabling practices.
  • Proactively stays informed of human resources trends and tendencies and how these can benefit the organization.
  • Strategic and operational advisor to the CHRO.
  • Perform a key communication role for the business unit community to ensure they remain aligned to each other and the Corporation's policies and procedures as well as showcasing innovations that come from the field that can be leveraged company wide.
Candidate profile:
  • Minimum 8-12 years progressive Human Resources experience within a US based multi-national corporation.
  • University degree in Human Resources Administration or other University degree complemented with relevant experience in the area of Human Resources.
  • HR experience working in global companies of at least 600 employees or more
  • Experience in Matrix organizations, a plus
  • Strong operational, hands-on delivery and demonstrated delivery of HR policies, processes and programs.
  • Able to adapt plans, strategies and processes in ways suited to the situation and culture of the company.
  • A seasoned business professional, at home with talking to, and influencing, senior decision makers.
  • The ability to become a trusted advisor to senior management, not just on HR issues but also commercial, strategic and organizational matters.
  • Ability to build rapport and connection with all layers in the organization; be the linking pin between employees and management
  • Strong facilitation skills, to provide added value when delivering training programs, team effectiveness sessions;
  • Well organized, with a disciplined approach to analysing data and evaluating priorities in a fast-changing environment.
  • Outstanding administration skills, with the ability to review and improve systems and procedures with the emphasis being on efficiency and user experience.
  • Previous success operating within a Matrix management environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Displays and mentor's effective leadership qualities.
