Job Summary

The University Transfer Center supports students who choose to transfer into a bachelor's degree after completion of an associate degree at SLCC. For students who remain in the Salt Lake Valley, SLCC hosts a selection of bachelor's degrees on our campuses delivered by partner universities. The Director is expected to provide leadership and strategic direction for the center and its activities. They will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing a growth strategy for the center to improve student transfer preparation and pathways completion. They will work closely with internal and external stakeholders across Academic and Student Affairs to ensure students are able to access accurate information and plan for a seamless transfer experience. The Director will supervise staff and manage office budgets.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties


Provide leadership and strategic oversight of the University Transfer Center. Conduct regular assessment of partnerships to set growth targets, analyse key metrics, and engage stakeholders to determine expansion opportunities aligned with institutional goals of completion, transfer, equity, and sustainability. Engage and implement marketing campaign to direct students to degree completion opportunities sponsored by the University Transfer Center programming. Develop data sharing agreements with partner institutions to improve center operations and outcomes.


Oversee the logistical support for hosting select bachelor's degree programs from Weber State University, Utah Valley University, and other universities on SLCC campuses. Support communication between SLCC departments and partner institutions regarding available programs, class and room scheduling, transfer articulation information, marketing, and other areas. Ensure all University Transfer Center programs information is accurate and current. Provide support to guest faculty and students including, but not limited to parking permits, wireless & computer access, OneCard services, library, etc . Maintain student enrollment data for assessment reporting and invoicing partner programs.


Coordinate and support University Transfer Center activities for SLCC students and supervise part-time staff. These include hosting academic advisor visits from transfer institutions and recruitment activities such as tabling, Transfer Days, and University & College Fairs. Maintain current transfer information for students specific to transfer institutions' admission, scholarship, financial aid, orientation, and other policies & procedures. Collaborate with SLCC Academic Advising to ensure transfer advising information is accurate and available to students both in-person and online.


Assist the Assistant Provost as requested. Participate on various college committees and task forces as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Three (3) or more years of administrative experience at a community college, college, or university.

Three (3) or more years of experience in transfer and articulation at a community college, college, or university.

Three (3) or more year of experience in curriculum and academic planning.

Project Management certification.

Minimum Qualifications

Earned master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with coursework in management, leadership, higher education, public administration, or closely related field.

Three (3) or more years of closely related, full-time, paid work experience at a community college, college, or university.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to work successfully with faculty, academic administrators, and student services staff & administrators in both individual and group settings.

Demonstrated success building and maintaining interpersonal relationships.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Extensive reporting and presentation abilities to measure performance metrics and communicate with college colleagues.

Excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Ability to work under minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.

Ability to creatively and independently problem solve by prioritizing, organizing, and multitasking during peak times while maintaining flexibility to address urgent concerns.

Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis using spreadsheet or statistical software.

Demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to maintain accurate, detailed information on a large scale.

Thorough understanding of policies and processes specific to transfer, articulation, curriculum, and general education.

Familiarity with accreditation guidelines of the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities or similar regional accrediting body.

Familiarity with and demonstrated skill with continuous improvement processes.

Knowledge of strategic and tactical planning, including budgeting and financial analysis.

Strong computer skills; specifically, Microsoft Office applications, academic software platforms (such as Ellucian Banner & College Source TES), and others.

Ability to respectively serve and appreciate individuals with diverse personalities and backgrounds.

Ability to Communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, and ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.

Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
