The JOB:
The primary responsibility of the Director of Spa and Recreation is to run a profitable operation while fostering an enjoyable, positive, and high-performing work environment. The Director Spa and Recreation is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Spa as well as the salon, recreation, pool, beach, and gift shop.
Drive revenue into the Spa and Recreation operations through creative marketing initiatives, on property strategies and community partnerships.
Operate department operations efficiently using resort systems, policies, and procedures to maximize monthly department profit.
Effectively train and coach staff so that they can consistently provide service that meets the resort's 4-diamond service standards
Understand licensing for the State of California in cosmetology, massage therapy and esthetics
Handle guest complaints with professional courtesy and expediency
Fill in for staff when necessary to work uncovered shifts
Assist in preparation of annual budget; uphold monthly budget -- labor cost, revenue, product and treatment cost, cost of merchandise sold, etc.
Assist in tracking inventory and ordering supplies for Spa, Salon, and Gift Shop.

To be successful in this position you:
- have previous experience as a Spa Director or Manager directly responsible for a complete operation. After the initial on-boarding, youll hit the ground running.
- are organized and structured in your work. This position will wear many different hats depending on the needs of the day, so organization is a must.
- are creative and innovative with ideas that will drive revenue and improve the guest experience
