null*In this role, you have the opportunity to*Working alongside cross-functional experts in the field of ultrasonic imaging, you will lead a technical team developing new, innovative medical products. Your tasks will include managing innovation programs from concept to market launch and product maturity of new products and solutions supporting diagnostic imaging applications. You will lead detailed design and testing of new products, ensuring that product designs meet specifications, and identifying and recommending solutions for complex technical issues. You will act as a technical lead on development projects, assisting the Program Manager in creating the project schedule, ensuring that technical tasks performed by engineers on the project team are executed on time and in compliance with the design and development plan, conducting technical team meetings, coordinating the activities of R&D engineers as well as cross functional resources.*You are responsible for*+ Technology leadership in developing and maturing a first-generation imaging technology platform+ Understanding the technology and key product features that ensure clinical and commercial success+ Managing research and development activities from Concept Phase through Commercialization+ Providing work direction, technical guidance, coaching and mentorship to a small team of R&D engineers+ Collaborating with a cross-functional development team and ultrasound technology subject matter experts to ensure program success+ Evaluating and executing on product design and manufacturing improvements to improve product robustness, yield, and cost+ Performing and leading root cause analysis for product failures and identifying potential corrective actions+ Making data driven decisions using appropriate analytical methodologies+ Preparing for and conduct various design reviews in accordance with product development and sustaining business processes+ Coordinating/participating in events that provide clinical feedback and guidance, such as physician interface meetings and pre-clinical studies+ Identifying and evaluating product improvements for clinicians to drive competitive advantage in the marketplace+ Working with patent counsel to prepare invention records and assist in the patent submission processes+ Delivering clear communication both written and verbal in a logical and succinct manner. Effectively present project plans and results to various management functions.+ Developing strong working relationships with functional team members outside of R&D required for product development, product industrialization, and sustaining engineering, ie Quality, Regulatory, Product Safety, Finance, Sales, Marketing and Clinical.+ Appling detailed knowledge and expertise of Quality Management Systems per ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, and EU MDR Requirements*You are a part of:*As a part of Philips Image Guided Therapy Devices, you will be part of great team of dedicated experts and leaders in the Medical Device Industry who will support your continued growth. You will be exposed to clinical leaders to understand the needs behind the products you help to develop.*To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience*+ Minimum Master of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomechanical or Biomedical) or related scientific field+ Minimum of 10 years working in product development in the medical device industry with a minimum of 5 years in disposable intravascular catheter development+ Diagnostic imaging experience including ultrasound preferred+ Experience and proficiency in design utilizing tools such as SolidWorks+ Design for manufacturability knowledge and applicable skills+ Strong technical writing ability and experience writing product requirements, specifications, test protocols, and test reports+ Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and written) both to senior management, customers and teammates+ Experience in a regulated industry required (medical device development experience along with a solid working knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO 13485)+ Six sigma/Lean/continuous improvement, root cause analysis and problem solving techniques*Why should you join Philips?*Working at Philips is more than a job.
