JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Role

The Junior Copywriter is responsible for the Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen product copy. He/she also supports the editorial team with other copy requests, including email promotions and site content. This position reports to the Editorial Copy Manager.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will...

* Oversee and manage lifecycle of product copy for catalogs and sites, ensuring copy is accurate, on brand, on time and within the Pottery Barn style guide
* Write a high volume of product descriptions that effectively communicate the features and benefits to our costumers
* Partner closely with the production information team to ensure accuracy of product information on site
* Write in the appropriate brand voice and tone for each category or collection
* Assign, write, edit and proof product copy using Excel spreadsheets
* Understand, differentiate and communicate fabrics, commitments and product details
* Partner closely with our in-house catalog production and website creative teams
* Attend meetings with product designers and/or merchants to learn about upcoming collections to focus the content of the product copy
* Assist in reviewing the product copy in catalog proofs
* Write and edit SEO articles to ensure the content is on brand
* Support editorial team with E-commerce copy (email and site)
* Create and edit social copy, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest
* Use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation and structures

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Superior editing, writing, proofreading and communication skills
* Proficient in Excel
* Excellent organization and prioritization skills
* Ability to edit copy - including your own - with an eagle eye
* Passion for home design and retail products
* Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams
* Four-year degree in a related field
* Ability to anticipate changes based on previous feedback from executives; a flexible and can-do attitude
