Join us as a Test Technician
and you'll be looking at a career-defining role based in Pittsburg, California.

As a Test Technician,
you will be responsible for the safe and timely testing & quality assurance
of vehicle, equipment, and systems as part of the rollingstock manufacturing
process. Testing responsibilities include static tests, maintaining test
equipment to compliant standards, and resolving nonconformities that arise
during the test process. In addition, the Test and Quality manager will have
responsibility on quality assurance throughout the assembly process to ensure
defects are captured, recorded, and resolved through root cause analysis. The incumbent
will lead a team of test technicians and quality inspectors.

Responsibilities:

Participates in project preparation, ensuring the site testing infrastructure is set up safely and efficiently.

Work with colleagues in the Plattsburg NY site to transfer processes, procedures, and tools to Pittsburg CA.

Prepares testing activities (eg documents, document binder, timetables, test areas, records, tools, etc.)

-
Manage the site quality processes, track trends on defects, develop root cause analysis and mitigation plans.

-
Work with production teams to communicate defects and reduce recurring issues.

-
Participates and supervises installation and installation test on rail vehicles.

-
Supervise quality inspectors to ensure assembly & supplier defects are captured and resolved.

Primary contact point with the local customer inspector, coordinate customer inspections and customer acceptance of vehicles pre work brief and post work de-brief.

Ensures work is carried out according to local site rules.

Implements and enforces HSE requirements on site with the support of HSE team representatives.

Ensure team members have the proper credentials, training and supervision for the intended works.

Writes fault reports whenever necessary.

Reports progress to Work Package Responsible/Site Manager.

Fills in test records and handover to the Commissioning Leader.

Ensure all testing data is adequately recorded in BT designated tool(s) (eg Maximo, RQM).

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

- Associate degree in a Mechanical or Technical field
- 8+ years of experience in the transportation industry performing testing on metro transit vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Experience supervising teams of technicians.
