Description Senior NLP Data Engineer

We are seeking an exceptional Senior NLP Data Engineer to join our growing data team, which is developing cutting-edge analytic tools to drive better and faster decision making within our company and to better understand and serve our customers.
At eHealth, our call centers handle on average 5,000 calls a day ranging from health insurance enrollment calls to customer service calls. These calls have a wealth of customer information which can be leveraged to improve customer satisfaction and call center efficiency. As a Senior NLP Data Engineer, you ll build infrastructure and pipelines to support NLP solutions to uncover the insights that would lead to a significant business impact. You will help us productionize and deploy advanced text analytics, machine learning models, and deep learning models into business operations.
  • Design and build highly scalable data integration/ETL pipelines to improve call/text data accessibility and consumption.
  • Implement NLU/NLP solutions to extract value from our historical and Real Time customer calls data.
  • Productionize, monitor, and maintain NLP machine learning and deep learning models.
  • Automate data processing using workflows tools to schedule and manage dependency of various data pipelines.
  • Assist in incorporating text data as features to existing models in production.
  • Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
Basic Qualifications:
  • S. or Ph. D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of experience with building scalable and reliable NLP pipelines.
  • 3+ years of production coding experience with at least one general software development programming language (Java, Scala), one data programming language (Python), and Scripting languages (Unix shell) as well as solid experience with git.
  • Familiarity with NLP frameworks and toolkits in Python (gensim, spaCy, NLTK, Convokit, AllenNLP, fastText) or Java (Stanford CoreNLP, NLP4J, OpenNLP).
  • Experience with AWS ecosystem (AWS Transcribe and AWS Comprehend) or Google Could Natural Language API.
  • Mastery of data wrangling libraries (Pandas, Numpy), scientific computing libraries (Scipy, Statsmodels).
  • Mastery of SQL (writing complex, high performance queries in Oracle or MSSQL); experience with distributed querying (Snowflake, Spark SQL, Hive) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB, etc).
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal forms, and an ability to communicate complex issues to a range of audience (management, peers, clients).
  • Passion for learning and always improving yourself and the team around you.
Nice to Have:
  • Familiar with machine learning libraries (Scikit-learn, h2o. ai, MLlib, Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch).
  • Expertise with relational databases and experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling.
  • Strong experience in designing and implementing data APIs.
  • Working experience with data warehousing.
