NPPGov is the government division of National Purchasing Partners, part owned by the non-profit hospital, Virginia Mason Medical Center and supporting their research and healthcare initiatives. We are a cooperative purchasing organization based in Seattle, WA offering publicly solicited contracts to government entities nationwide including: Government, Education, Public Safety, Law Enforcement, and Non Profit organizations.

Public Safety GPO and Law Enforcement GPO are programs of NPPGov with contracts that focus on Public Safety and Law Enforcement members' needs. We facilitate business between vendors and our government members. Our business creates and provides access to a broad range of publicly solicited contracts with discounted pricing along with individual discount programs and negotiated contracts for below threshold purchases. The hiring process for this position will be handled through Virginia Mason, and applicants will apply through the Virginia Mason website.

This position builds and develops business relationships with vendors to promote brand awareness, trains vendors on how to use contracts, and creates profitable relationships in new markets as a means to increasing contract utilization. Searches out and develops outreach and customer opportunities and furnishes leads and reports. Extensive travel is required in this position. Although NPPGov is located in Seattle, WA, this position has the flexibility to be located outside the Seattle market.

Qualifications:

We require:

* Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required
* 3 years strategic sales experience in business-to-business sales environment.
* Must have a proven track record of developing new business and expanding existing business.
* Shows deep understanding of the business and industry.
* Displays political savvy and an ability to build mutually beneficial relationships quickly.
* Proven ability to build and execute strategic account plans.
* Self-starter, highly organized with effective time management skills and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
* Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong customer service skills.
* Strong negotiation, networking, communication and persuasion skills in one on one, small group and large group presentation settings.
* Excellent writing skills. Ability to write effective proposals.
* Refined and effective public speaking skill set which would include material preparation, audience assessment and material presentation.

Preferred:

* 5 years in government, fire/rescue, law enforcement or experience selling to these markets.

* Work involving government procurement and cooperative procurement process is highly valued.
