UW MEDICAL CENTERS PITUITARY PROGRAM & NEURODIAGNOSTICS has an outstanding opportunity for a HEALTH SERVICES MANAGER The HEALTH SERVICES MANAGER, UW MEDICAL CENTER - PITUITARY PROGRAM, & NEURODIAGNOSTICS is responsible for overall administrative management of the clinic(s) - Pituitary Program, & Neurodiagnostics - through operationalizing the medical center's values, mission and goals. The Health Services Manager hires, supervises and mentors clinic staff in such a way to create effective teamwork, plans and implements programs to meet specific patient care needs; works to continually improve clinic operations and efficiency and ensures patient safety. Prepares, evaluates and manages financial reports and budget and is accountable for meeting LEM goals and performance outcomes. This position is responsible for the above activities in oversighting the Neurological Surgery Clinic, Neurodiagnostic and the Pituitary Program. The NS clinic provides care and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves, providing a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary approach to complex neurosurgical problems such as tumors, degenerative disease, vascular lesions, epilepsy, spinal anomalies, peripheral nerve disorders, chronic pain and spasticity, movement disorders, and developmental defects. This position also oversees Neurodiagnostics, a procedure clinic, which has just been reorganized to encompass all Neurology and Rehab Medicine affiliated technologist-based services performing neurodiagnostic procedures including EEGs, evoked potentials, autonomic testing and visual diagnostic testing, and intraoperative neuromonitoring among others. Volume performance for Neurodiagnostics is measured and reported as RVUs based on the complexity of the procedures. A service contract exists for neuromonitoring services performed by technologists at Seattle Children's Hospital and requires periodic review and renewal. Technologists are certified and/or registered in different modalities and participate in the development of clinical protocols. The Center for Reconstructive Surgery provides an array of reconstructive surgical services. Such as post-mastectomy reconstruction, skin cancer removal and reconstruction, or are looking for surgical treatments for lymphedema. The clinics are located in two different locations, the Surgical Pavilion and 7 East and this position needs to execute time management and prioritization skills in meeting clinics operational and leadership needs. This position oversees 39 FTEs. These clinics support both diagnosis and treatment, and the position needs to interface effectively with both medical directors, and Neuro, Rehab Surgery and Neurosurgery Department chairs and surgical services. These clinics are both integral to meeting the financial, patient care, teaching missions of UWMC, and UW Medicine and critical to patient access to the services provided in these clinics. REQUIREMENTS: + Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or other related field + Minimum of 4 to 5 of management/supervisory experience in a medical setting + Basic computer knowledge (Word and Excel) + Demonstrated leadership experience, working collaboratively with medical leadership and staff. + Demonstrated ability to manage the financial performance of the clinic. + Demonstrated knowledge of ensuring compliance with billing policies. + Demonstrated ability in process improvement to optimize clinic flow and operations. + Demonstrated interpersonal skills in a manner which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution, and facilities cooperation and collaboration to meet goals. + Demonstrated skill in Human Resources management such that staff are productive and function well as a team. Ability to have tough conversations as needed, counsel staff and utilize corrective disciplinary process as needed. + Knowledge of The Joint Commission, DOH and other regulatory agency standards + Demonstrated excellence in customer service in daily interactions with patients, family members and medical staff + Equivalent experience may substitute for requirements DESIRED: 4 to 5 Years healthcare management in ambulatory care - Experience working in an academic medical center University of Washington is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
