Collaborates or leads with senior department leadership in creating and producing various communications plans, projects and materials for internal and external audiences to promote the internal and external communications goals of BJC HealthCare, its hospitals and services. Responsible for leading the development, creation, implementation and budget management as applicable of internal and external communications plans and projects for BJC HealthCare and affiliates. These goals are achieved by careful planning and coordination with BJC/HSO leadership, Communication & Marketing team leaders and other key internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages and evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Strengthens existing communications or marketing and communications platforms, channels and vehicles, and leverages communications best practices to initiate and develop more effective and efficient communications or marketing and communications channels and tools.
Integrates current change management concepts and strategies into all team responsibilities and communications/communications and marketing deliverables.
Partners with HSO leadership, internal clients and functional teams to provide strategic communications counsel and reputation management; leads the successful and creative design, development, implementation and management of communications plans and projects using best practices with regard to strategy, content and channel to advance communications and marketing strategies. Represents and/or supports senior C&M department leadership. Projects may encompass internal and external channels including newsletters, brochures, annual reports, miscellaneous collateral, news releases, media relations, social media and/or web content.
Proven track record of success in research, interviewing, writing, editing, production coordination, distribution and/or media relations skills using appropriate communications vehicles, media outlets and social media channels. Must be proficient and experienced with team functional skills and processes.
Maintains and further develops collaborative relationships with key internal and external clients and other partners to lead effective communications planning and execution. Analyzes communications challenges and provides recommendations. Serves as advisor and counsel on communications issues, including employee engagement, news media and/or crisis response. May provide strategic counsel on issues management and crisis response in collaboration with BJC and HSO Communications or Communications and Marketing Directors.
