Job Summary
A Lead IT Product Engineer is responsible for helping architect, create, and maintain enterprise class services for CenturyLink customers. They will provide superior support to a subset of CenturyLink clients in a complex network and/or hosting solutions environment. The CenturyLink Lead Product Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, implementation and support of client managed application services. The Engineer filling this role will be a subject-matter expert (SME) within the area of technical focus and will provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance within their peer group. Prior work experience in Agile focused DevOps teams Assume ownership of CenturyLink managed services, including both platform and application technologies Create concise and accurate technical documentation for consumption throughout CenturyLink Participate and collaborate with operations management teams to provide root-cause analysis for all client outages and failed changes in the environment Establish standards and thresholds for monitoring and auditing to ensure stable and supportable operating infrastructures Drive service improvements and efficiencies through the design and development of effective automation Define the standards and documentation for the installation, configuration, and support of client applications Demonstrate new CenturyLink services in front of internal engineering groups Review audit and performance results to facilitate proper capacity planning and service management Participate in an on-call rotation and shift turnovers to other global support teams Drive for self-improvement in technical and non-technical areas Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills that drive collaboration and promote a productive and creative work environment The ability to effectively communicate with clients, peers, and management The ability to develop and maintain internal and external professional relationships Install, configure, document, troubleshoot, and tune the following technologies Microsoft Server Technologies Experience in deploying, administering and securing large Microsoft Active Directory environments Understanding of DNS concepts and the ability to administer DNS Experience building custom Windows server images for deployment via automation scripts and orchestration tools Ability to create custom deployment packages for Microsoft SQL Server Experience writing SQL queries. SSL Certificate Management Deep understanding of Microsoft networking Ability to analyze network packet captures using tools such as Wireshark Execute and analyze advanced diagnostic reports for Microsoft Active Directory. Deep understanding of Windows Scripting technologies with a focus on automation using PowerShell. Experience in deploying cloud based services such as windows authentication/authorization and cloud based databases. Proven ability to write bash scripts. Education
