Quality Assurance Specialist job in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Quality Assurance Specialist Job Overview:

  • Part-time hours (20-30 hours per week)
  • This is professional and administrative work coordinating and implementing a quality assurance program in a facility providing specialized or community-based services, or in assisting with the implementation of an intense quality assurance program of substantial scope and complexity for persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Suicide risk assessment process owner
    • Facilitating the environment risk assessment for HCPH and FTC. The suicide risk assessment analyzes the physical environment for potential hazards and develops mitigation strategies to minimize the risk.
    • Responsible for analyzing the results of the physical environment assessment, and discuss with clinical team.
  • EOC committee
    • Participating in the environment of care committee for FTC.
    • Coordinating the HCPH environment of care committee.
  • Facilitating the Culture of Patient Safety survey
    • Advertising the survey to the facilities which would include education and coordinating the effort.
    • Developing a survey collection system
    • Data entry and analysis of the survey results
    • Facilitating conversations with leadership to determine action plans based off analysis
  • RCA
    • Work with the QM team to participate in root causes analysis
  • Patient Safety week
    • Organize and plan the annual Patient Safety week activities
  • Compliance
    • Work with maintenance and fire safety specialists to determine compliance monitoring activities
  • Fall prevention
    • Assist the nursing department with educational material
    • Monitor practice and policy match
  • Attend patient safety meetings
    • Monitor for patient safety issues
    • Suggest RCAs or further analysis
  • Monitor restraint and seclusion paperwork
    • Identify trends
    • Develop mitigation plans
Quality Assurance Specialist Job Qualifications:

  • Master†s Degree from an accredited college or university
  • 15 earned credit hours in one of the following:
    • Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Education, Occupational Therapy, or a closely related field
  • 3 years of professional experience in psychology, social work, nursing, education, adjunctive therapy, case management, staff development, or a closely related area, involving the development, implementation, or monitoring of treatment/habilitation plans or staff training functions pertaining to programs and services for persons with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Additional qualifying experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the required graduate education.
  • Knowledge: The Joint Commission and/or CMS standard, Patient Safety, suicide risk assessment, fall prevention, Environment of Care committee participation, Root Cause Analysis, preferred to have knowledge about Lean Six Sigma.
