Develop, edit and publish content to a website for the public, home office associates or branch associates.

Work with business areas on content to ensure accurate and up to date information

Ensure that content is consistent, concise, easy to use, conforms with standards, and is properly linked.

Facilitate focus group discussions and requirements gathering sessions with subject matter experts and end users to ensure content meets business objectives.

Analyze feedback from end users and consult with subject matter experts on how to Improve site content and usability.

Utilize web design best practices, technologies and resources. Collaborate with design specialists and and participate in web design projects.

Design, publish and maintain content ranging from basic to complex web pages with dynamic functionality (including web based forms).

Obtain Compliance approval of materials as required.

Provide training and to support to associates publishing departmental or division web content.

Education/Certification or functional knowledge required prior to obtaining the position (ie college degree preferred; BS in Accounting or related fieldb

Bachelor's degree in English, creative writing, technical writing, journalism, marketing or related field preferred

Minimum Years of Experience Required

Two to three years experience in web site content development or intranet/internet authoring and publishing procedures

Depth of knowledge of principles and practices of a specific field of specialization such as finance, human resources, IS, marketing, etc.

Proficiency in web design/writing principles and HTML required

Proficiency with web content management systems, such as Teamsite, Stellent, Oracle CMS, or SDL Tridion, Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office and Fireworks or alternative software preferred.

Problem Solving:

The degree to which problems are complex or non-routine. The amount of fact finding, analysis and creativity required to solve problems. The degree to which problems address single or multiple issues. Give examples of the types of problems solved and the frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, annually, etc).

Problems are moderately complex and include:

Collaborate with business owners to assess if content is easy to access and understand and make modifications as appropriate to increase clarity and ease of use.

Consult with stakeholders on business needs to create content and design solutions which support business and user objectives. Evaluate input from users, other stakeholders, and usage reporting on a regular basis to identify opportunities for improvement..

Decision Making:

The level of authority for making decisions and the degree of risk involved (the extent to which decisions are made without review and the corresponding business impact of those decisions). The extent to which decisions are governed by precedent, procedures and guidelines versus broad direction.

Medium level of decision making. Works independently and uses existing procedures, processes and guidelines to prioritize and complete work by established deadlines. Makes decisions on web page design in relation to site navigation schemes and architecture. Responsible for escalating issues that are more complex or that do not fit with established processes.

Span of Influence:

The breadth and depth of work performed. The influence of the position in affecting business results of a department, division or the entire firm, ie, the scope of the job. The extent of responsibility for hiring, terminating, performance reviews and other human resource decisions.

Responsible for developing content that serves as the main knowledge base for associates in the field and at headquarters or that helps the public understand our business and what we offer our clients. Failure to have clear, concise, usable web content will result in lost productivity and/or potentially lost business. It will also increase calls to our service teams and increase costs to the firm. Collaborates with other departments and divisions, and translate the information into clearly written, error-free web pages. May serve as divisional resource/expert for ensuring adherence to standards and guidelines. Use knowledge and experience to influence content design in collaboration with business and other stakeholders.
