This position will be focusing primarily on our Reserve Power applications, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.

Job Purpose

Production Supervisor will be responsible for operators and processes meeting manufacturing targets in a safe work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reviews production schedules for proper sequencing & recommends revisions/adjustments.

Support the development of lean man. processes; cont. improvement, visual mgmt, standard work, problem solving, value stream mapping, training & employee involvement.

Drive program to establish scrap rate & reduce scrap to maximize profitability.

Evaluate quality complaints to identify the root cause; coordinate with the Quality/Prod. Mgr to resolve and develop corrective/preventative actions.

Establish daily production/capacity goals for dept. to ensure proper utilization of all associates and equipment.

Direct/manage associates to ensure operational goals are met in a timely and cost effective manner.

Control/minimize labor OT and repair expenses.

Supports & assists in implementing/maintaining preventative maintenance programs.

Participate as an “on call” resource during off shift hours.

Champion dept. Safety, Kaizen,5S Programs, and cost reduction.


Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering

5+ years of experience in manufacturing/production/assembly environments

3-5 years of supervisory experience

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools such as Pareto, root cause analysis, standard work, visual management, and 5S

Must be familiar with assembly line balancing, bottleneck identification and time studies.

Completes production plans by scheduling and assigning staff, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems and reporting results of shift production

Must be able to read and follow ISO9000 WI . Reading blueprints, diagrams and schematics a plus

Demonstrate leadership and people skills; able to lead and motivate a diverse workforce

High Competency with Process Improvement and Training

Experience in Inventory/Materials Management; knowledge of industrial assembly

General Job Requirements
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able and willing to be on-call.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
