Medical Biller (Private Practice) - (Syracuse) Must have one to two years of minimum of working experience.

Seeking a Full time Medical Biller with experience.

Will process claims, work a/r, handle denials and appeals and post payments. Must have prior medical billing experience to be considered. Full-time

Monday - Friday 8-4:30 schedule.

Salary $15.50 DOE.

* Bill and file insurance claims electronically utilizing (Name of EMR system).
* Make collection calls and established payment schedule with patients.
* Enter charges and post claims and payments.
* Verify insurance coverage and obtain medical referrals and authorizations for medical procedures, tests and surgeries.
* Working knowledge of various insurance company plans to include (LIST NAMES; Private Carriers, HMO's, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Comp & Disability.
* Follow-up with correspondence on denials, rejections and appeals.
* Correct and remit claim denials.
* Responsible for gathering charge information, codes, entering into computer and acquiring information from the provider as to correct procedure codes (ICD-9/ICD-10 & CPT-4) for each patient.
* Assist in answering phones, research accounts, provide information as requested by providers, insurance carriers and medical facilities.
. Enter and edit patient demographics required for billing records, reports, files.
. Proficient at EOB (Explanation of Benefits) interpretations, reconciliation and re-submission of claims to insurance companies.
* Knowledge of various insurance forms to include HCFA, UB-92 and EOB forms.
. Provide patients with explanation of benefits and assist with interpreting statements and services.
* Apply appropriate "Evaluation and Management Service Codes" (E&M) selected by the providers.
