SPECIAL NOTES:
A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited college or university is required . Admission to the Florida Bar is required . Senior Attorney positions require two (2) or more years of legal experience.

Preference will be given to applicants who have one (1) or more years of litigation experience.

Expected hiring range is $55,000 to $65,000, depending upon experience.

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Responses to qualifying questions must be clearly supported by the state application and any omission, falsification or misrepresentation in the answering of the qualifying questions will be cause for immediate elimination from the selection process.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and either Westlaw or Lexis/Nexis legal research tools.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Represent the Department of Financial Services, Division of Workers' Compensation in various areas of Division oversight and responsibilities, including the Office of Medical Services, the Special Disability Trust Fund, the Bureau of Monitoring & Audit, and the Bureau of Compliance. Handle administrative and appellate litigation, and provide guidance and legal opinions to the Division as requested.
