Role Value Proposition:

This role is in MetLife s Enterprise Applications Organization, located in Tampa, FL, working specifically on financial system implementations, enhancements and other strategic initiatives that support MetLife's Global Operations. Enterprise Applications supports many of Oracle s Enterprise Performance Management tools such as Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management (HPCM) Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Quantitative Management Reporting (QMR) and Financial Close Manager (FCM). To this end, individuals applying for this position should have experience leading mid-to-large sized projects, including expertise in the preparation, coordination and management of Project Charters, Business Requirement Documents, Project Plans, Budgets, etc. This individual will also be responsible for the coordination of User Acceptance Testing (UAT), status reporting, coordination of weekly update calls, and direct presentations to upper-management. Provision of subject matter expertise over these applications is also a critical function for this role. A history and knowledge of MetLife s business operations and financial systems is a plus. This position works with in-country and regional staff as well as other corporate departments and IT partners to drive financial system projects to final conclusion, within budget and within established timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads mid-to-large sized project teams that span across multiple areas, functions, and/or lines of business to implement new and/or modified processes, procedures, or initiatives tied to key financial systems.
  • Leads the effort to develop and implement new or revised processes, procedures, initiatives.
  • Co-Defines project scope and objectives with business leaders.
  • Conducts research and analysis to quantify business opportunities and issues and develops formal recommendations for presentation to management.
  • Takes projects from original concept through final implementation and provides a single point of contact for assigned projects.
  • Develops and presents to senior management, detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Runs project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Monitors and drives the progress of initiatives, milestones, and budgets to ensure timeliness and deliverables are met.
  • Provides information to end users to help resolve inquiries related to assigned processes, procedures, and/or initiatives.
  • Motivates and leads project team members that are not direct reports that may span multiple functions/LOBs

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project skills
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Ability to work independently and resolve issues
  • Experience with preparation of project charters, business requirements documents, project plans, project budgets
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong communication skills- both written and oral
  • 4 - 6 years of related work experience leading mid to large sized project teams.


  • Bachelor's degree with focus on Accounting, Finance or Computer Information Systems preferred
  • Strong project management skills. PMP certification a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Hyperion suite of products a plus
  • Strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project skills
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Ability to work independently and resolve issues
