Company in North Fort Worth area has a contract or contract-to-hire Director of Accounting. (Prefer candidate from DFW area)
This is a contract or contract-to-hire position.
Responsibilities
Own US GAAP accounting, including month-end close, quarterly submissions and reporting requirements, technical accounting issues (such as software capitalization, revenue recognition, etc.) and accounting for any complex and unusual transactions in co-ordination with corporate accounting.
Responsible for setting and communicating monthly close calendar. Orchestrate on-time completion.
Ensuring that all internal process controls for accounting processes are adequately designed, that all controls are being performed and that evidence of the control being performed exists for audit purposes
Responsible for KPI's.Work with the regional business owners to ensure that all customer service needs (such as invoicing, billing, and various other KPI's) for the business are met and any process issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Responsible for all financial systems changes.
Work effectively with finance and business leaders in order to provide accurate and complete financials and other financial information.
Support management and provide oversight on annual internal audit compliance requirements, including managing the development and implementation of drills intended to operationalize internal controls.

Requirements
15+ years of experience, public accounting background or experience in financial reporting or corporate accounting at an international public-traded company.
5+ years of experience managing a diverse team.
BA/BS degree in Accounting.
Active CPA license.
Prior experience in tech industry.
Detail oriented. Strong interest in technical US GAAP, including a solid foundation in accounting analysis and ability to read and understand US GAAP guidance.
Strong initiative and desire to work in a team-oriented environment. Must be a self-starter with excellent time and project management skills. Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
Highly motivated, detail oriented and organized.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain collaborative work relationships at all levels within the Company.
Proficiency in MS Excel is required.
Proficiency with Cognos Controller/Cognos TM1 financial reporting software is a plus.
