Job Description Position: Financial Reporting Global Fund Services Director Job Description: Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of annual, semi-annual and quarterly fund financial statements and regulatory filings (Forms N-SAR, N-CSR, N-Q and N-MFP).
  • Maintenance and documentation of fund disclosure policies.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley certification process.
  • Fund administrators.
  • Fund audit function and audit process.
  • Print and mail functions related to annual and semi-annual reports.
  • Resolve financial reporting and audit issues as they arise.
  • Prepare quarterly board reports related to financial reporting, regulatory filings and audit matters.
  • Management reporting of above functions.
  • Manage a team of 5 to 10 professionals of various levels.
  • Perform recruiting and develop team members.
  • Participate in accounting policy database process whereby accounting policies are formalized.
  • Analyze and communicate new and existing accounting standards, technical literature and mutual fund industry best practices to determine accounting treatment and accounting policy.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders including fund administrators and fund accounting agents, independent accountants, marketing, investment operations, portfolio managers and in-house and external legal counsel.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including ability to clearly articulate results of financial analyses as wells as issues to senior management and the auditors (Communication Skills).

Required Qualification:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA and/or 5+ years of relevant public accounting experience preferred.
  • 10-15+ years in mutual fund accounting or administration including mutual fund financial reporting, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of supervisory experience; demonstrated experience in leading teams of professionals, staff development, coaching and performance assessments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mutual fund GAAP/financial reporting, mutual fund accounting and custody operations.
  • Functional knowledge of Subchapter M.
  • Functional knowledge of the 1940 Act and Investment Advisers Act.
  • Investment accounting experience in international funds, complex derivatives, complex fixed income, money market, closed-end funds.
