Your Role:
The Manufacturing Trainer is a critical role in the onboarding and training of manufacturing staff. The Manufacturing Trainer's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Demonstrating proper lab safety practices and work in accordance with FDA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, DOT, and other regulatory agency guidelines
  • Training all manufacturing staff working a 24/7 schedule on proper Kilo Lab, Pilot Plant, and Production plant manufacturing techniques for APIs and intermediates
  • Working in a team environment and be an effective member supporting the manufacturing group
  • Effectively operating and demonstrating proper operation of production equipment
  • Identifying and creating refresher training that corresponds to current manufacturing activities
  • Communicating proper procedures for maintaining the safety and cleanliness of production areas and all related equipment, specifically potent compound handling techniques
  • Providing support to the Managers and other team members in a multi-shift manufacturing environment
  • Authoring and utilizing a wide variety of written procedures, including batch records and OP's
  • Demonstrating and training staff on maintaining accurate and concise cGMP records as a primary or secondary operator
  • Demonstrating proper procedure for keeping inventory up to date during each shift
  • Identifying and implementing improvement projects that improve skillset of senior employees and subject matter experts
  • Implementing and supporting train the trainer initiatives to expand training knowledge and ability of senior staff and subject matter experts
  • Adhering to the MilliporeSigma Six Simple Rules (show you care and think of others, see future take steps, honor commitments, listen with an open mind, explain the why, invest fully in every action)
  • Striving to be a role model for other employees through superb work habits and excellent occupational behavior
  • Ensuring training is coordinated and effective for off shift personnel, to include oversight of the Learning Management System for manufacturing employees

Physical attributes:
  • Occasionally wear respirators, Tychem and/or Tyvek suits, and other personal protective equipment when handling highly potent/hazardous materials

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2 + years of pharmaceutical, chemical, or related production manufacturing experience in a training capacity
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related Life Science
  • In-depth knowledge of pilot plant and kilo processing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate technical procedures and practices to new hires
  • Proficiency with Mango, Trackwise, and SAP systems
  • Prior manufacturing training experience
  • Demonstrated process improvement experience
  • Possess a high degree of motivation and is a self-starter
  • Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail
