Senior Mechanical Engineer

£35,000-£45,000 Per Annum

My client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their small, talented R&D team developing products for oil & gas, water and industrial process industries.

Your main role will be the design and specification of valves, seals, hydraulic systems and other components.

You will be taking new products from design/prototype stage all the way through testing phase and finally to production.

Essential:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar at Masters or above (First class, high 2:1, or equivalent)
Proficiency in CAD modelling and producing manufacturing drawings using GD&T
At least 3 years of industry experience including new product development activity
Working to industry design standards or similar internal processes

Desirable:

Experience of the design and specification of hydraulic systems
Experience of stress analysis of safety-critical components
Experience of seal design, particularly dynamic seals
Mechanical design and stressing of pressure vessels or piping components
