Architect (Permanent)

Location: Remote based - Midlands preferred Country: UK Rate: £80-90k

The Architect - Difrent

We're on the hunt for a bit of a Unicorn in the shape and form of an Architect for Difrent. (Best to think of this role as a Solutions/Technical rather than Enterprise/Business).

This individual will take the lead on architecting services for Difrent and our clients (predominantly Government so experience with GDS would be really useful). This role includes the design and build of new systems, platforms and digital services. The services we build genuinely impact the lives of millions of people throughout the UK, across Central Government and Healthcare space.

At Difrent, we have an ambitious growth plan that will see us delivering cutting edge digital services to public good organisations. During the last 18 months, we have grown tremendously and tripled our revenue, as a result, we are looking for an aspirational Architect that wants to be part of our journey!

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside some of the UK's best technical talent, all sharing aspirations to deliver high-quality digital solutions. We are looking for a hands-on Architect, familiar with mentoring technical resources, and when necessary happy to sit beside development teams, and roll up their sleeves to get stuck in with a variety of activities.

At Difrent we are all about delivering world-class, digital service in an open, honest, collaborative environment. We are looking for a proactive, hardworking and passionate individual, that wants to join our quest in positively disrupting the digital delivery space!

In this role, you'll interact with our clients on multiple Agile projects, typically to help deliver a specific product via a multidisciplinary, highly skilled digital team. You'll be adept at working within complex digital programme environments. You must be comfortable working across multiple software development technology stacks, and have both hands on and strategic Platform & Software design/engineering experience. Candidates will need to possess a broad technical understanding of the Software development life cycle and how to utilise this, to deliver a range of outcomes for the public good.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience involving the following technology:

  • Software Development Lifecycle

  • Spring Boot/Java

  • Node.JS

  • Postgres

  • AWS

  • API Systems based on Spring

  • Extensive experience with API integrations with 3rd party systems

  • Data/UML Modelling

  • Experience in Wardley/Capability mapping

It is essential that the successful Architect will have experience in:

  • Serverless microservices architecture

  • Hands-on and Strategic architecture

  • Working across multiple software development work streams and technology stacks

  • High-level stakeholder management and engagement

  • Successful Bid processes and pre-sales exposure

  • Requirements analysis

  • Mentoring and upskilling multidisciplinary teams

  • 3rd party vendor/supplier analysis

  • Non-technical speaking when needed

It would be advantageous for candidates who have previous experience of working to Government Digital Services guidelines (GDS) or have previous experience in a public sector setting.

If you are an experienced Architect looking for an exciting new challenge with a company that offers genuine career progression and personal development, this is a fantastic opportunity to join us here at Difrent at a really exciting time for the business. Come and help us challenge the status quo when it comes to Digital Delivery!

Our team comes from a variety of backgrounds and we welcome diversity - if you're unsure, please apply.

Location: Remote based but Midlands preferred. (There is an expectation of 2/3 days based on one of our client sites in the North East for the next 12 months on our largest account).

Salary: £80k - £90k + benefits
