Electronics Engineer (Permanent)

Location: Hook, Hampshire Country: UK Rate: £30k-£40k

The main objective for this role is defining, designing, testing, validating and certifying products, across the full design life cycle from the early conception of the products until the readiness of the products for mass production.

The Electronics Engineer will be the owner of the electronics design and will ensure that all requirements are fulfilled.

This role will report to the Hardware Manager, in charge of the hardware team. Depending on the experience, the [senior] electronics engineer may mentor or manage some engineers/intern/apprentices.

The role:

Will report to progress of the design (timelines) and the associated risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies

Will interface with other members of the team (layout, compatibility with the mechanical design, testing).

Will interface with other departments (quality, project management, supply chain, finance, factory)

Will work with laboratories in order to qualify products

This role will be responsible for:

-Defining products

  • Writing hardware specification based on the requirements (customer and internal)
  • Interacting with different design teams
  • Interacting with the product manager about the specification

-Designing products

  • Drawing schematics
  • Selecting components
  • Liaising with the layout engineer
  • Liaising with the mechanical team

-Testing products

  • Delivering and implementing a test plan of electronic designs
  • Writing and storing test reports
  • Visiting some UK labs for pre-compliance testing.
  • Sharing results with design teams - Validating and certifying products.

This role might include some travels in the UK for labs and abroad

Experience Needed:

  • Experience with PCB technologies
  • Experience with RF design
  • Drawing Schematics
  • Experience with R&D(Research and Development)
