IT Systems Support Technician (Permanent)

Location: Tewkesbury Country: UK Rate: Up to £42k per annum

IT Systems Support Technician - Permanent - Tewksbury - up to £42,000

Our amazing client is looking for an IT Support Technician to join their Defence Systems and Technology side of the business. DST forms a critical part of our client's organisation, working across a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, they operate from a number of sites across the UK and internationally ensuring our global customer portfolio is always supported.

The Key Responsibilities of an IT Systems Support Technician:

Your main tasks will include:

  • You will provide second line support for bespoke/niche systems.
  • System commissioning
  • Implementation and monitoring of compliance for existing and new systems
  • Analysis of reported incidents and identification of suitable solutions to technical problems
  • Service management (incident, change, asset) tools and processes
  • Customer technical liaison, advice and guidance
  • Security logging and user access compliance
  • Documentation and facilities management of data
  • Knowledge management and sharing
  • Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.
  • Drive Continuous Improvements through the implementation of ISO 90001:2015,or equivalent

Below is a list of Key Skills required for the IT Systems Support Technician, however you will not be expected to have everything:

Working knowledge and application of incident management and handling and the capability to operate within PU status.

  • Linux administration
  • Virtualisation management (VMWare)
  • Windows administration
  • Active Directory
  • Centrify management

The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:

  • System data flow
  • ITIL service manager
  • ITIL asset manager
  • Problem solving/troubleshooting experience
  • Significant experience working with Windows and Linux OS in an administrator role and at command line
  • RF fundamentals
