Qlik Engineer: Gas and Power Trading: Global Energy Co. (Contract)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: £600 - 700 per day
 
Exciting opportunity for a Qlik Engineer with experience in commodity trading join this global Energy company.

This is an exciting time to be joining this world-leading company as they transform themselves from a traditional Oil & Gas company into a leading name within the Renewables sector. This includes the creation of an already highly successful new Power Trading desk within the Energy Trading team as well as new ventures into various innovative solutions around the supply of Renewables including wind farms, electric vehicle charging, solar panel heating and battery storage. These innovative solutions provide opportunities for exceptionally highly talented individuals to contribute to the success of this transition where you will be working with some of the best people in the industry working on new and ground-breaking initiatives utilising the very latest technology.

The role will be part of the Energy Trading business and have a key focus on Gas/Power Trading specifically.

Accountabilities:

Design, build and implement POCs, prototypes and full-fledged UX solutions and strategies
Communicate with key stakeholders to drive clarification of requirements and to promote UX designs and solutions
Support the design, eg, by analysing user journeys and drive towards simplification and automation
Enable high quality & compelling story telling through creation of strong, simple to understand data visualizations
Document technical solution design and strategy documentation
Run quality assessments of counterparts' design
Coach and develop other UX analysts
Adhere to Release and Change process
Pursue knowledge enhancement

Required Skills:

Knowledge of and experience with design & prototyping tools
Expert knowledge in QlikSense & Qlik Cloud Analytics to deliver complex, fast moving datasets to high value trading teams.
Gas/Power Trading knowledge - Short-term trading, physical assets trading (CCGT, Wind, Solar, Battery)
Expert knowledge of authoring/troubleshooting SQL/Azure/Databricks queries
Expert knowledge and application of general and tool specific connectivity, data modelling, source data procurement strategies (Database, import/cached), security configuration, performance tuning, usage of right visuals, layout optimization, mobility, Scripting and integrating advanced analytics into visualization tools
Knowledge of upcoming trends in tools and technology
Familiarity with user-centered design and testing methodologies and usability and accessibility concerns.
Communication Skills to engage technical developers, architects and stake holders
Good project management and organizational skills
Self-motivated, very good in taking initiative. Innovative and able to drive junior team members
Must have experience in working with AGILE, KANBAN methodologies. Able to run a sprint
