Generally:

I am looking for Business Analyst candidates with a strong background in data analytics within the oil and gas sector.

In extracting, cleaning, and analysing large volumes of data from various sources including drilling, production, and reservoir data systems.

Also nterpreting complex data sets, identifying trends, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.

Requires a deep understanding of both business processes and data analysis techniques, as well as the ability to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

CORE LAB TEST - FLUID TEST - CUTTINGS TEST

Occasional travel to African continent required

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor business metrics.

• Perform statistical analysis and data mining techniques to uncover patterns, correlations, and insights that drive operational efficiencies and cost savings.

• Utilize advanced analytical tools and methodologies to forecast production trends, optimize resource allocation, and mitigate risks.

• Conduct ad-hoc analysis and provide actionable recommendations to support strategic initiatives and decision-making processes.

• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data integrity, quality, and security standards are maintained across the organization.

• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analytics and oil and gas operations.

• Focus is on Seismic data including (reservoir data, well data, geological data) and test data such as core lab test, fluid test and cuttings tests.

Skills :

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst in the oil and gas industry.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis and manipulation.

• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.

• Familiarity with oil and gas data management systems (eg, OSIsoft PI, Wonderware, Petrel).

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.

• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) are a plus.
