Business Continuity Consultant (Contract)

Location: Hybrid - WFH/In London 3 days a week Country: UK Rate: £550 per day (inside IR35)
 

Business Continuity Consultant required for market-leading financial services firm. The role will be focused on supporting the head of Operational Resilience and BC management in maturing the function.

Responsibilities:

  • Create BCP Business Standalone plans, to include workaround and alternative process documentation where there are current gaps and review all existing workaround documentation, implement a schedule for regular maintenance, and allocate associated responsibilities.
  • The production of Service Recovery plans, to include workarounds, for 4 of our IBS (FO Metals, Energy, Settlements and Margins) and address findings identified from the 2022 IBS exercising.
  • Update the company (UK, Paris, Singapore and NY) current BCPs, to Incident response plans and align to the crisis Management Framework.
  • The production of internal/external communication plans.
  • Production of BCM operating standards/procedures to align and to support the implementation of the BCM policy
  • Design, produce and deliver Training and Awareness for Crisis Management and BCM
  • The production of an Incident Management Policy and Operating Standards, with input from Operational Risk.
  • Design and communicate the implementation of the Incident Management Policy
  • Identify where standalone BC documentation (BIA and BCP) need to be created - for functional teams such as Finance, Credit, HR.
  • Test the Plans
  • Support the identification of critical/key Third Parties RTO/RPOs
  • Develop a multi - level, layered scenario testing strategy, comprising of a library of exercise types - to scale up and mature over time, aligned to existing exercising/testing requirements currently executed, to incorporate:
    1. Corruption, deletion or manipulation of data critical to the delivery of an IBS (data restoration) - establish what is the minimum critical data to meet IBS' & what are the upstream & downstream impacts
    2. Unavailability of facilities or key people
    3. Unavailability of third-party services which are critical to the delivery of IBS
    4. Loss or reduced provision of technology underpinning the delivery of IBS
    5. Event Response Planning, Business Continuity, IT DR.
    6. Cyber/Malware Attack
    7. Loss of critical systems/Citrix & Third Parties
    9. BCM Exercises
  • Develop and implement a 12-month activity calendar, to include core actions required to be undertaken, to include: a review of CBS'/IBS', scenario exercising of impact tolerances, SRTOs review of IBS/CBS process maps, self-assessment, BC response plans and exercising, ITDR testing.
  • Develop and agree KPIs/KRIs for IBS' and create service operational resilience 'dash boards' for ORC to include: System/Service availability, IT resilience, DR capability RTO/RTC system alignment to service RTO, Third- Party resilience status and SLA performance, BC compliance status, Key risks outside of risk appetite and resilience risk issues, Incidents encountered, and if there has been a breach to one or more impact to impact tolerances/SRTOs

As an ideal candidate, you will have an industry certification such as CBCP, ISO22301 CBCM OR CBRM and have expert knowledge of Operational Resilience, Incident Management and Business Continuity. You will also have a proven track record of delivery in a similar role. Financial services experience required.
