We are seeking an SC-cleared Java Developer to support a central government digital programme, working on Java and Spring Boot applications hosted on AWS. The role focuses on maintaining and enhancing production-grade services, embedding secure-by-design and zero-trust principles, and collaborating closely with DevOps, Application Support, and business stakeholders to ensure stability, resilience, and operational excellence within regulated cloud environments.
Essential Skills:

Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience in production environments.

Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, IAM, networking, security services).

Experience supporting live services, including incident management and operational support.

Knowledge of cloud security and zero-trust principles in regulated environments.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and release management.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Active SC Clearance (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, support, and maintain Java/Spring Boot applications hosted on AWS.

Deliver bug fixes, minor enhancements, and configuration changes to improve stability, performance, and security.

Support incident resolution and operational troubleshooting in collaboration with DevOps and support teams.

Work with CI/CD pipelines to manage builds, deployments, and releases.

Apply secure coding standards and support identity and access integrations.

Maintain runbooks, technical documentation, and operational procedures.

Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, scalable solutions.
Location: Occasional travel to London
Contract: Initially 3-6 month contract
Rate: £525 per day (Inside IR35)
