We are looking for a web GUI/Front End developer to work in our Canvas team. This team develops and maintains application and provides technical support and services to our clients where required.

The role will be to develop the UI aspects of the Canvas applications, improving the current UI and providing new interfaces for the backlog of new features we have planned. Tasks will cover all areas of the product life cycle including, solution design, documentation, development, testing, continuous integration, QA, security, deployment, and maintenance fixes.

This role will also provide support to the operations team investigating customer issues and resolving problems directly with customers.

Principle accountabilities:

  • Support and improve on the UI for Canvas and tools
  • Develop new user interfaces as Canvas grows and as new tools are developed.
  • Work with the Canvas architect to create a coherent UI and UX design philosophy.

  • Good understanding of UI testing

Additional Knowledge/Experience:

  • Vaadin
  • Java EE
  • PostgreSQL

  • Wider experience with other UI frameworks such as React or AngularJS.
  • Geo location displays eg Google Maps, OpenStreetMap
  • Containers for development and deployment
  • Jenkins
  • Jira

Education/Experience

  • Degree level qualification or demonstration of previous experience in industry
  • Experience leading UI development for a product
