Job description - the role

AMS is the world's leading provider of Talent Acquisition and Management Services. Our contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) service acts as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provides professional interim and temporary resources. We partner with Arup to support contingent recruitment processes. On behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Business Development Designer for an initial 6 months contract based in London (Hybrid 3 days per week in the Office).

Candidate Profile: Key accountabilities, skills & experience

About the Opportunity:
As Business Development Designer you will form part of the Property Science Industry Technology and Social Infrastructure London Team (PSI 3) and hold a strategic role on the groups business development portfolio team. You will set and develop the PSI 3 teams visual communications strategy and direction, managing their time and others in the team to realise the group goals.

In this role you will:

  • Be responsible and accountable for the visual communications across PSI 3 or external and internal graphics and illustrations. Reporting to the group leader and business development portfolio lead.
  • Take a lead role in supporting the engineering team to tell compelling engineering stories through diagrams, images, text and illustrations.
  • Act as Graphics lead within the Business development portfolio team.
  • Be responsible for enhancing the team's visual communication internally and externally.
  • Be responsible for the development and/or implementation of strategic graphics and visual communication plan; which is coordinate with business development and work winning.
  • Responsible for predicting and planning graphic tasks and managing the outcomes to agreed timelines utilising CMC and engineering resources as necessary to do so.
  • Assisting the team to align all visual communications with central Arup CMC standards and guidance.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Business and Development for Architecture companies.
  • Architectural mindset or background working for architecture firms.
  • Extensive experience of graphic design, visual communication and work as an Illustrator.
  • Wide skills set of graphical tools from hand sketching to computer graphics to 2D and 3D visualisations.
  • Ability to tell stories through images and diagrams.
  • Ability to work with technical specialists to interpret complex technical sketches into simple diagrams.
  • A expert level of using InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or similar graphic-based software for the production of diagrams and images.
