Front Office/Capital Markets - Project Manager (Contract)

Location: City of London Country: UK Rate: £800 - £850 per day + PAYE/Umbrella
 

Consent Order Project Manager

A Leading Financial Services firm are looking to hire an experienced Project Manager, with specific exposure to Front Office/Capital Markets knowledge.

  • £800-£850 a day (Inside IR35/Umbrella or PAYE only)
  • The role is an initial 9 month contract with scope to roll into a couple of years
  • Hybrid - Based in London (3 days a week in the office/2 days a week at home)

Consent Order Project Manager

The Markets Program Execution & Transformation Team is looking for a leader to drive project and program management across the Markets Business transformation portfolio.

This portfolio includes large strategic transformation programs such as FRTB (Fundamental Review of the Trading Book) and Consent Order programs.

In this role you will manage key deliverables and drive critical Business, market risk and regulatory change throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong delivery mindset to help drive the successful implementation of key initiatives within this Program. They will also have a solid capital markets and risk background with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and specialists. This is a leadership role at and candidates must have command of both technical and business subject matters to influence and manage key stakeholders

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Business, Product Control and Market Risk to implement strategic solutions for the firm.
  • Work closely with the Markets Securities and Services (MSS) Technology team to ensure that the data is accurate, complete, has proper data lineage, and help steer the overall data governance.
  • Represent MSS Transformation across various streams of work to ensure the timely delivery of key initiatives, milestones, issue tracking, and issue remediation.
  • Effective communication with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the program/project, including obtaining buy-in for business process and infrastructure changes.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to senior management covering project/program status, resourcing and plans
  • Support the Markets Transformation Program Manager with complex change in heavily regulated environment

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of regulated change programs and fast paced regulatory responses
  • Knowledge of Front Office market structure and trade flow across a range of markets trading products.
  • Experience of working with legal teams and be aware of regulatory terminology and its practical implications
  • Experience of managing projects which impacts the firms control structures
  • Experience of managing projects impacting front to back control measures
  • Experience of obtaining stakeholder and legal approval for change projects
  • Demonstrable experience in trade processing front-to-back, risk and control, markets, operations, and support & control areas (eg Finance, Risk) within a large bank/dealer
  • Knowledge of global markets trading products (Fixed Income, Equity, Currencies & Commodities) and/or securities services (Prime, Collateral, Clearing, Custody, Fund Services)

Skills and Competencies - Must be able to demonstrate extensive experience of:

  • Strong project and program management skills; ability to gain consensus among project team and stakeholders, and drive initiatives to completion effectively
  • Ability to interact with senior business stakeholders
  • Ability to chair senior forums
  • Management and facilitation to achieve objectives, with both local and with remote teams
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and leadership skills to mobilize and motivate delivery in a co-operative and collaborative working environment across trading and support/infrastructure/control functions
  • Expertise and hands-on practitioner expertise in designing and implementing structured business/operational processes and business requirements documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to effectively produce procedural documentation and communicate with senior management.
  • Ability to seamlessly communicate complex technical issues to non-technical colleagues
  • Can interface with senior stakeholders and can chair senior level steering committees
  • Can follow project management methodologies to an exceptionally high standard

Qualifications:

  • College/university degree education or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years appropriate industry knowledge & delivery track record is essential.
