Digital Project Manager (Contract)
Location: Taunton, Somerset Country: UK Rate: £600 PD INSIDE IR35
Our clients, a Central Government organization, require a new Digital Project Manager to join their team on an interim basis.
- Identify and obtain any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the project
- Negotiation for the release of critical resources
- Ensuring resolution of problems relating to project delivery against business need eg overcoming weaknesses in the user requirement, the specification, or acceptance criteria.
- Identify, obtain support and get buy in for the management of critical issues, planning and control of the project and its dependencies
- Managing stakeholders to achieve this includes the ExCo, business managers, technical design and assurance functions, a difficult task which requires significant analytical capability, interpersonal skills, etc
- The workload and content is likely to vary considerably through the different stages of the project phases. At times it will involve working to tight deadlines particularly for the review and approval of complex technical documents.
- Resolving technical, commercial and contractual issues with external stakeholders and industry which could prevent or limit delivery of the project.
- Resolving change management issues that could prevent or limit success of the business solution being delivered.
- Ensuring that transition and in-service plans have the commitment of all stakeholders and that operational performance parameters (eg resources, system/process monitoring and performance metrics) are all met.
- The post holder will be expected to analyse problems, and exercise considerable initiative in resolving them.
Essential Experience
- Experience of establishing a project approach and organisation necessary to deliver.
- Experience of managing project life cycle from idea to closure.
- Experience of governance and assurance.
- Experience of engaging senior stakeholders.
- Experience of maintaining strong working relationships with project team members, business side resource and third party suppliers.
- Experience of delivering a project using an Agile approach and associated development behaviours and techniques eg DSDM and SCRUM.
