Engineering Manager (Permanent)
Location: Southampton, Hampshire Country: UK Rate: £45k - £55k per annum
Our client is one of the world's largest engineering industrial suppliers and who also provide additional support to some of the worlds biggest companies. Their Southampton site is looking for an Engineering Manager to join them. As an experienced engineer and qualified manager, you will be running a team of experienced multi skilled engineers on a daily basis.
To ensure the smooth running of operations, you will be expected to manage the full team, through a management structure, comprising of the following functions:
- HSEQA
- Engineering workshop operations
- Commercial and administration
- Monitoring and understanding customer service levels, ensuring work is delivered to the quoted price and lead time and meeting contractual responsibilities, such as TCO, RCA and specific reporting and quoting progress updates.
The job itself
On a daily basis you will be managing and co-ordinating a team to ensure the following are achieved:
- Main Product - DC motor repairs and coil manufacture
- Technical understanding of manufacturing within the engineering industry.
- Strong background in all aspect of service delivery
- Strong understanding of service metrics and a proven track record of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrable experience in H&S.
- Understanding of operational requirements/constraints
- Plans activities and projects well in advance and takes account of possible changing circumstances.
- Applies specialist and detailed technical knowledge.
- Sets and develops strategies.
- Takes responsibility for actions, projects and people
What we are looking for from you
- The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of H&S within the team both on site and customer premises.
- The management of the workshop facility, the site services teams, and Commercial/Administration functions
- Producing regular and accurate forecasts
- Monitoring the staffing levels (inc overtime), skill set and flexibility of the workforce to ensure it matches the requirements of the target customers.
