Test Automation Engineer (Permanent)

What to expect

As a key member of the team as the Test Automation Engineer you will be driving the test automation activities within the SPM programme with the aim of increasing the number of tests automated, frequency of execution and speed of runs.

You will be facilitating moving existing automation assets that sit on local machines into the common test automation framework and integrating with the CI/CD pipeline. While the concept has been proven successfully in lower environments the team need to expand this into all teams and environments.

As a senior Test Engineer, you will be enhancing our test automation capabilities for achieving our north star of fast and safe deployments into production.

Your experience will be invaluable to identify and recommend technical best practice on test automation tools, driving innovation and technological change. Identifying and recommending technical best practice on test automation processes, driving continuous improvement.

As a lead, you will be helping to establish and maintain test automation policies and standards. Maintaining and enhancing test tooling within GitHub actions CI/CD tool chain. As the lead in maintaining and enhancing the test automation framework, you will also be the lead in contributing to test strategy document on test automation thought leadership and vision.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a Experienced ISTQB/ISEB Practitioner with extensive knowledge and understanding of CI/CD tool chain development. As a leader, you will have the ability to build positive working relationships in a fast paced and complex working environment.

You will:

  • Experience in Script development, debugging and optimisation
  • Experienced in Selenium, AWS, GitHub Actions.
  • Extensive use of Playwright, Datadog and Jira
  • Experience of Python (optional)
  • Proven understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an agile environment with development squads
