Data Scientist (Contract)

Location: Wales - Cardiff Country: UK Rate: £500-600 p/d Inside IR35
 

Data Scientist - 1 day p/week in the Cardiff office, the rest can be remote There will be regular travel to Cardiff for this role so living within 50 miles of Cardiff would be highly beneficial. Credit Risk - If you have previous experience within a credit risk environment and strong R skills this contract could be ideal for you.

Duration: Initially until the end of 2024 with a strong chance of extensions
Rate: £500-£600 p/d (Inside IR35 and paid through an umbrella company)

Our client, a leading innovator in data-driven decision-making, is seeking a Data Scientist to contribute to their product strategy through statistical analysis. This role requires a blend of statistical expertise and business acumen. You will play a key role in shaping product strategy by conducting insightful analysis and presenting findings to stakeholders. This role presents an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated individual who excels in collaborative environments and possesses strong communication skills.

About the Role:
We are looking for a Data Scientist to conduct statistical analysis to support product strategy decisions. Ideally you will have experience in data mining, statistical methods and modelling/scoring techniques.

Responsibilities:
Independently running analysis of large datasets, producing results and presenting these to business partners with the support of data science peers.

Requirements:
A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Quantitative Methods (or equivalent experience).

Good understanding of statistical methods applied to data analysis.

Strong experience with R, Python, SAS, SPSS (or equivalent analytics software).

The ability to describe statistical results to a non-statistical audience.

Experience of processing large datasets and matching/merging multiple datasets.
