SC Cleared Security Risk Support Analyst (Contract)

Location: North West England Country: UK
 

Security Risk Support Analyst - Inside IR35

Contract Term: 12 Months

Contracting Authority: Department for Work and Pensions

Location: Hybrid working (2 days per week in Birmingham, Leeds, Blackpool or Sheffield office)

Please note: This role requires SC Clearance. Candidates must be eligible/willing to undergo SC screening as a minimum.

Description:

DWP are currently building and innovating ways of working to support how cyber security risk assessments are conducted within DWP.

We also pride ourselves in providing self-service tools to enable colleagues to engage, collaborate and to develop the required solution that meets security standards.

As a Security Support Analyst you will work towards developing a good understanding of the tools and techniques used by DWPs and to be able to contribute to core security deliverables.

You will be given appropriate responsibility and under the guidance of cyber security risk analysts assist in delivering cyber security risk management and change recommendations for the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage risks, issues and dependencies (external and internal) for DSRM deliverables and own them until they are effectively resolved.
  • Manage team dynamics, demonstrating leadership, coaching teams and team members to improve flow, quality and ownership throughout the wider team. Deal with conflict and help establish a positive team culture.
  • Establish collaborative working across organisational boundaries, ensuring quality is delivered at pace.
  • Lead robust adaptive planning collaboratively across stakeholders, establishing priorities, conflicts and issues, helping everyone to navigate a complex environment.
  • Actively manage change and governance, changing parameters as appropriate in association with governance boards and senior stakeholders, taking all cross-project impacts into account
  • Take responsibility for the business function and develop processes and workflows. Continuously improve own knowledge and skills in DWP security management, digital frameworks and technologies. Coaching and mentoring other members of the team.
  • Communicate with impact across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, tailoring messages to ensure that it is right for the audience
  • Promote productive relationships with other Digital Practices, sharing perspectives on delivery issues, resolving common problems.

Key Skills/Knowledge:

  • Takes full responsibility for complex projects with high impact, managing risks and dependencies effectively.
  • Adapts methods and tools for project management, ensuring effective change control, risk management, and testing processes.
  • Prioritises tasks based on data, manages internal and external dependencies, and removes blockers to ensure delivery confidence.
  • Clarifies stakeholder needs and expectations before decision-making, encourages innovative suggestions, and analyses technical information for informed decisions.
  • Possesses operational cyber risk experience, relevant certifications (CRISC/CISSP or CCSP), and experience in triage and prioritization of security engagements.
  • Experience with CIS18 framework.
