Lorien Global are working with a global energy company to help them find a Data Scientist to join their team. You will be working on the development of their forecasting and algorithmic trading platform in the UK power market, using machine learning and predictive models.

You will:

  • Build machine learning models to help forecast demand, market prices, and participant behaviour.
  • Build decision-making tools to act autonomously in power markets.
  • Bring an experimental mindset, prototyping and developing with the right model for the job.

Required skills:

  • Strong Data Science experience
  • Experience with energy/power markets
  • Python experience (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn and Polars)
  • Machine learning experience
  • Experience with predictive modelling
  • Experience with time-series forecasting
  • Pricing experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related technical field (advantageous)
  • AWS cloud experience (advantageous)
