Information Security Solution Architect (Contract/Permanent)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: £70k + skills allowance (up to £5k Dependent on experience)
 

Are you an information security architect looking to work for one of the UK's largest charities?
Our architecture vision is to deliver reliable and efficient technical landscape, making it easier to deliver and support technology that grows our income and delivers British Heart Foundation's (BHF) mission, and this role will play an instrumental role in making that happen.

As our Information Security Solutions Architect you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security architecture of an organisation's IT systems and networks. You'll work closely with other IT teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure that the security policies, standards, and best practices are aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives. You'll also monitor and evaluate the security posture of the IT systems and networks, putting forward recommendation, improvements, and enhancements to mitigate risks and threats.

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

This is a 20 month Fixed Term Contract.

About you
With a solid understanding of information security across all domains, you'll be comfortable with leading change and challenging where appropriate to drive good security standards.

A team player who enjoys working with others to achieve the team goals, you'll also have experience of the following:

  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and methodologies, such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, SABSA, etc
  • Expertise in security technologies, tools, and solutions, such as (but not exclusive to) Firewalls, antivirus, encryption, VPN, IDS/IPS, SIEM, SOAR, XDR, DLP, etc
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Security Stack
  • Proficiency in security architecture design, implementation, and review, using various approaches, such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc
  • Able to conduct security risk assessments, audits, and compliance reviews, and provide remediation plans and recommendations
  • Strong analytical skills, able to see a problem and identify solutions
  • Strong leadership with the ability to lead and coordinate security initiatives across multiple teams and domains
  • Strong project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of industry-specific security regulations and standards, such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, Cyber Essentials, NIST

With excellent communication skills, you'll be comfortable liaising with people at all levels of the business, as well as external partners. You'll develop strong working relationships quickly and with ease, and will be comfortable communicating complex security concepts and issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
