Android Mobile Developer - Hybrid - Edinburgh - £625pd (inside IR35)

My client are on the lookout for a skilled Android Engineer proficient in Kotlin development to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Clean Architecture, Jetpack Compose, Dependency Injection, and advanced Kotlin programming concepts. They will play a key role in designing and developing robust, scalable Android applications.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop high-quality Android applications using Kotlin, following best practices and coding standards.
2. Implement Clean Architecture principles with MVVM and MVI design patterns for modular, maintainable code.
3. Utilize Jetpack Compose to create modern UIs with declarative syntax and reactive programming.
4. Integrate Android Architectural Components like Room, LiveData, and ViewModel for efficient data management and UI updates.
5. Implement Dependency Injection using Dagger 2 and Hilt to enhance modularization and code maintainability.
6. Apply functional programming techniques, including Kotlin language features like Generics, Coroutines, Flows, and Delegates.
7. Incorporate SOLID principles and design patterns such as Repository, Factory, and Builder for scalable applications.
8. Configure build settings and dependencies using Gradle to optimize build performance.
9. Write unit tests using JUnit, Mockk, and Strikt to ensure application logic reliability.
10. Conduct functional testing using Espresso to validate UI behavior and user interactions.
11. Integrate third-party libraries like Retrofit, Glide, etc., to enhance application capabilities.
12. Stay updated with the latest Android developments and incorporate new technologies and best practices into projects.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2. 3+ years of professional experience in Android development with a focus on Kotlin.
3. Proficiency in Clean Architecture principles and MVVM/MVI design patterns.
4. Experience with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development.
5. Familiarity with Android Architectural Components (Room, LiveData, ViewModel, etc.).
6. Experience in Dependency Injection using Dagger 2 and Hilt.
7. Strong understanding of advanced Kotlin concepts like Generics, Coroutines, Flows, etc.
8. Knowledge of SOLID principles and design patterns.
9. Experience with Gradle for build configuration.
10. Proficiency in writing unit tests using JUnit, Mockk, and Strikt.
11. Experience in functional testing using Espresso.
12. Familiarity with third-party libraries like Retrofit, Glide, etc.
