Azure Cloud Engineer - DevOps - IaC - Cloud Automation - 6 months - Inside IR35 (Contract)

Location: London/Remote Working Country: UK Rate: Negotiable Day Rate - Inside IR35
 

Global IT Solutions Company requires a suitably experienced Azure Cloud Engineer with extensive experience within DevOps, IaC and cloud automation for their client based in London.

The primary focus will be to collaborate with their cloud architect and various other teams to build out repos of deployment templates, modules, parameter files, and automation scripts in addition to building CI/CD pipelines to automate the delivery of end-to-end solutions and applications that align to internal security policies and regulatory frameworks.

Azure Cloud Engineer - DevOps - IaC - Cloud Automation

Contract Length: 6 months

Location: Remote Working/London Hybrid

Day Rate: Negotiable Day Rate - Inside IR35

Key objectives:

Assist in the acceleration of our cloud adoption, helping to build and foster a DevOps culture internally,

Work in Tandem with our cloud architecture, product and services teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the firm,

Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance,

Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design, and

Manage cloud environments in accordance with the firm's security guidelines.

Required skills, experience and qualifications:

Three or more years of experience within a DevOps organisation, designing and building automation pipelines to aid the business in the development and deployment of cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure,

Fluent in the creation of Bicep Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates, modules, and parameter files,

Strong working knowledge of Azure DevOps, specifically building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines,

Fluent in PowerShell Scripting with the ability to automate processes that can then be integrated into CI/CD pipelines,

Azure certifications, ideally AZ-400, or a degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field,

Experience with Azure cloud migrations and assessments using Azure Migrate,

Solid knowledge of Azure networking, security, storage and database management,

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills,

Strong documentation, communication and collaboration skills, and

Comfortable with Agile practices.

Additional skills and experience

Experience with, or knowledge of Bicep deployment stacks,

Experience with or knowledge of the Azure Well-Architected Framework,

Working knowledge of Terraform and,

Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

Key Responsibilities:

At the direction of the cloud architect, develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy Azure workloads, and in the definition of standards on tools supporting pipelines with a Security first mindset,

Assess the firms' systems and applications in readiness for migration to the cloud, ensuring the quality of solution design, including coordinating reviews and approval of technical deliverables,

Develop and implement automation processes to simplify and streamline the management of cloud-based infrastructure,

Collaborate with product and services teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions, and then to plan, design, implement, test, quality assure, migrate and maintain Azure cloud-based systems and solutions, ensuring that they perform as intended,

Develop and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with the Microsoft well-architected framework and best practices, ensuring that cloud infrastructure is optimised for performance,

Work closely with product and services teams to create an automated CI/CD pipeline,

Install, manage and monitor cloud infrastructure for support and operations, including security checks to ensure the cloud applications are secure, identifying bottlenecks and minimising downtime, and optimising cloud resource usage and costs,

Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud infrastructure,

Work with IT security and compliance teams to implement security and compliance controls and ensure that they are being followed and that the firm's data is protected in the cloud.
