Scala Developer - Remote Work (Inside of IR35) (Contract)
Location: Remote  Country: UK Rate: £450pd (Inside)
 

Our client are a top tier consultancy looking for x2 Scala Developers on a 6 months contract.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain scalable and efficient Back End services and APIs using Scala and Play Framework.
  2. Implement concurrency and distributed systems using Akka Actors and Streams.
  3. Utilize functional programming concepts and libraries such as Cats to write clean and maintainable code.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust and scalable solutions.
  5. Write unit tests and participate in code reviews to ensure the quality of codebase.
  6. Troubleshoot and debug production issues, ensuring timely resolution.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Scala Developer, with a strong understanding of functional programming principles.
  2. Proficiency in Scala programming language and familiarity with Play Framework, Akka, Cats, and HTTP technologies.
  3. Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  4. Knowledge of database systems such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
  5. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
