Global Law Firm seeks an IT Security Engineer/Cyber Security Consultant to assist in the implementation of security features and tools across Network, Server and Cloud environments.

You will work closely with the InfoSec team to understand the security controls which have been created and then with the Security Architects/Infrastructure Architects to understand the physical security designs and alert solutions which will need to be built, configured and/or implemented whether these be through engineering principles or through 3rd party tools and software. As the IT Security Engineer/Cyber Security Consultant you will additionally work closely with various 3rd party security vendors. You will work in a hands-on security engineering capacity configuring security across the landscape, implementing software where required and working with the vendors and internal IT teams where necessary in order to build out the security landscape.

As the IT Security Engineer/Cyber Security Consultant you will deploy, manage, and maintain the security tooling ie, mail gateway, web gateway, Firewalls, IPS/IDS, EDR, etc whilst moving certain elements to the cloud to ensure managed ongoing security compliance. You will also configure the security alert tooling to trigger responses to incidents which you will also oversee and manage in conjunction with wider server, cloud and network engineering teams.

Being a broad, hands-on security engineering role you will also support the relevant teams in procuring, commissioning, administering and decommissioning Security Operations tooling, identify security tooling which requires updating and upgrading, and which tooling is no longer fit for purpose. You will work closely with the Security Architects on High-Level Design and Low-Level Design documentation and participate in the Change Management process, where appropriate.

We are searching for an IT Security Engineer/IT Security Analyst/Cyber Security Consultant/Network Security Engineer who can demonstrate hands-on security engineering experience gained within a global environment. You will be familiar with mail gateway, web gateway, Firewalls, IPS/IDS, EDR as well as a range of contemporary security tools and alerting tools. You will be comfortable working with architects to advise on the practical engineering aspects of security design and bring procedural security knowledge, experience along with technical understanding of software, server and network environments and the application of security procedures within best practice as well as the practical, hands-on implementation of security protocols and software in and around perimeter defence, server hardening and cloud security configurations. You will be an information security/cyber sec professional who holds certifications ranging from CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, Security+, CISA, CISM, and may have some exposure to frameworks such as COBIT, ISO27001. Excellent organisation and communication skills are pre-requisite.
