Technical Project Manager (Contract)

Technical Project Manager - JP Morgan - London - 6 months contract - Hybrid - PAYE

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join JP Morgan in London on an initial 6 months contract. Preferably you'll have experience working on multiple project and have a background in data management. You'll have experience having liaised with senior management and also provided various trainings as part of your role.

The Role:

The Technical Project Manager will be part of the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) Information Architecture team reporting to the CIB Information Architect Program Management Lead within the CIB Engineering and Architecture group.

The CIB Information Architecture team is a pioneering force in Data Technology for Investment Banking, committed to transforming our Data Governance Framework through cutting-edge technology adoption. We are searching for a skilled and dynamic Project Manager to drive the strategic implementation of the Data Governance Technology Solutions across CIB Technology. You will be at the forefront of ensuring data is managed efficiently, securely, and in alignment with regulatory, firm-wide and CIB requirements through the integration of innovative IT tools and practices

The immediate priority is the implementation and adoption of the new CIB Data Standard across the complete landscape of 2,500 CIB applications, engaging the 800+ Application Owners and other key stakeholders (eg Lead Design Authorities, Lead Information Architects, CIB Chief Information Architect, Chief Business Technologists, Chief Data Office etc) .

The successful candidate will be comfortable leading planning, training, communications, implementation and adoption of the CIB Data Standard program of work.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Adoption Training & Delivery - Design, develop, and deliver adoption training including a communications plan for rollout to stakeholder groups. Ensure timely delivery of training and ensure that correct/appropriate tooling processes have been identified and documented. Comfort with public speaking, acting a point of contact/SME for adoption, and leading groups with diverse opinions.
  • Project Planning & Execution - Work closely with stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and deliverables. Create project plans, establish timelines, and allocate resources effectively to ensure successful execution.
  • Cross-function Coordination - Facilitate communication and collaboration between different teams involved in the project (engineering, product, design, controls, etc) to ensure timely adoption delivery and tooling availability
  • Risk Management & Stakeholder Management - Identify potential risk and dependencies early in adoption life cycle and develop mitigation strategies to address. Proactively manage obstacles to keep adoption on track. Interface with various stakeholders including executives, customers, and CIB partners to update on project status, get feedback, and liaison as SME.
  • Technical Knowledge/Expertise Needed - Understanding of SDLC including Agile/Kanban, CI/CD, version control, and JIRA. Understanding of system architecture, databases, APIs, and microservices. Experience in data management, analytic tools, and general knowledge of data best practices or governance.

Qualifications:

  • project/programme management experience with a focus on IT Data Governance or Technology Adoption projects.
  • Knowledge of Data Governance principles, Data Management and Metadata Management.
  • Proficiency in IT Project Management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to pick up new concepts quickly.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.

*Please note that this role will be working on a hybrid model of 3 days minimum office based and up to 2 days wfh. You'll require your own Laptop/PC when working from home.*
