Site Reliability Engineer (Contract)
Location: England Country: UK Rate: £500 - £550 per day
SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER - CONTRACT - 12-MONTHS - FULLY REMOTE - AWS
JOB DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deploys current applications into all production systems (Staging/PreProduction/UAT/PROD)
- Troubleshoots Applications and Systems
- Performs moderate Testing/QA of Applications after they are deployed
- Establishes Testing/QA deployment guidelines
- Monitors existing client systems to ensure all things work correctly
- Implements automation steps using proprietary worker/jobs Management Control system
- Handles communication with Support team to triage issues related to running systems
- Constructs SQL queries and/or programming scripts for processing system workloads
- Diagnoses system performance problems
- Assists with the daily support of systems/products through early detection and monitoring of systems
- Works closely with support groups assisting them in their analysis and problem recovery
- Other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5+ years of previous experience working with Application troubleshooting
- Proficiency and a minimum of 3+ years of programming experience using SQL language
- Basic but comprehensive understanding of MS-SQL Server and SSMS functionality
- Must have experience working with JIRA/SCRUM environments
- A minimum of 3-5+ years of Systems Engineering experience. Must be able to show good experience working with Windows ServerBS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
- Ability to troubleshoot issues in Application and hosting environments
- Must have willingness and desire to learn new systems and technologies
- Must work as part of collective teams and have good verbal and written communication skills
HIGHLY DESIRED - PLUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous working experience with Job Control Management systems
- Previous basic Object-Oriented programming experience (C# and/or F#)
- Previous experience working and troubleshooting IT/System level issues
MINIMAL DEMONSTRABLE TECHNICAL SKILLS DURING INTERVIEW:
- Must demonstrate good and/or advanced understanding of SQL Language programming
- Must demonstrate good problem-solving skills at System and Application level
- Must demonstrate basic understanding of Windows OS systems
